Frequently asked Questions with Answers

GENERAL TOURS

Q : How do we know what company works best for our needs & interests ?
A : We believe that "not every company is right for every customer."
TAMBO TOURS is a "designer of programs" and we prefer to offer trips that are not made to be the "cookie cutter social events" of the cruise lines or whole seller travel agents. Since most travelers prefer to have more control of their "interests, time & money" we allow our customers a choice of a variety of "non cookie cutter companies" that the "whole seller travel agents" do not offer. In fact our designer programs many times are lower priced than their general tours.

Q : What is the difference in hotels that TAMBO TOURS offers over what other companies offer?
A : We always tell our travelers to compare "hotel name to hotel name." Do not compare by the star system...3, 4 or 5 star. There are "night and day" differences in these comparisons and we have designed our own method that allows you to get the type of hotel that suites your personal needs and budget. We list ALL our hand picked hotels on a drop down menu for each area of interest.
EXAMPLES OF HOTEL CLASS...( TAMBO TOURS are in BOLD )

  • Barato-3 star hoStels (nice private bath) (others may call: Economy class)
  • Economy Class-3 star hoTels (others may call: Tourist class)
  • Tourist Class-3 star hoTels (others may call: First,Deluxe or Superior)
  • First Class-4 star (others may call: Superior First or Superior Deluxe)
  • First Class-5 star (others may call: Executive or Superior Deluxe First)

Q : How do we know we are getting a good hotel and in a safe location?
A : The owners have traveled to Peru over 80 times and as noted prior "hand picked" all our hotels that we offer to our customers. We do not offer hotels that are based on high commissions and do not buy cheap hotels in bad locations for these higher profits as a wholeseller might. Again we list ALL our hand picked hotels on a drop down menu for each area of interest.

Q : What if the hotels we prefer are not available?
A : We have a "one on one" relationship with many of the hotels that we work with so normally we can confirm your hotels that you prefer. If the requested hotel is not available we have alternative hotels and can discuss these options with you.

Q : After we decide what type of program we want how long is it to get confirmed?
A : After the program is discussed with you, we request the local operations for availability. Normally that "same day" we have a "confirmation of update" from them. In fact many times we can confirm your program in a matter of minutes.

Q : What type of clothing should we take for our trip ?
A : Depending on the region and time of year that you travel you will want to take comfortable items that allow your body to breath as well that allow to be layered for easy removal. EXAMPLES ...
